Past Highlights

In 2003-2004 CIS was selected by the U.S. Department of State to be one of only 12 high school programs selected to experience this incredible opportunity! The project included participation in an internet exchange, a long-term exchange initiative with a school in China.
CIS students said they had the best time interacting with Japanese and French students on short-term exchanges, and videoconferencing with Taiwanese students.
ANNUAL JAPAN NIGHT
Representatives from Orlando’s Sister City, Urayasu, set up booths for eager students to participate in Japanese cultural experiences: tea ceremonies, flower arranging, origami, calligraphy, Japanese games, food tasting, karate, and finally a circle dance!
Field trips to Epcot and the Greek community of Tarpon Springs; CIS Retreat at Universal
International Dinner & End-of-year Banquet
International clubs offered at DP included Model United Nations and Youth in Government.
CIS raised thousands of dollars for Asian tsunami relief, African students and cancer research.
